Post-Procedure Instructions
Reminders:
No driving the rest of the day.
Stay hydrated and get plenty of rest today.
You may resume regular meals, but please avoid "eat-all-you-can" buffets today.
Avoid heavy lifting for a few days.
Resume your maintenance medications unless you were advised otherwise.
If endoscopic clips were used during your procedure today, DO NOT undergo MRI scans for 6-8 weeks unless cleared by Dr. Laya.
Things to watch out for:
If you notice any bruising or discomfort at the IV injection site, applying a cold compress can help reduce swelling and ease any pain.
If your throat feels sore, you may find relief by drinking warm tea, using saltwater gargles, or taking throat lozenges.
If you are feeling unwell, have abdominal pain, fever, nausea/vomiting or bleeding, please call the office immediately.
*** If it is after office hours and you cannot reach us, please proceed to the Emergency Room***
Other things to note:
Any prescriptions will be forwarded to you directly.
The endoscopy unit should have provided you with a copy of your reports and endoscopy photos for your files.
Please let us know if we need to provide reprints.If samples were collected from your procedure, the office will contact you once histopathology results are available.
